Empowering Individuals in Alternative Relationships
ARC is dedicated to empowering individuals in alternative relationships such as polyamory, ethical non-monogamy, BDSM and kink, LGBTQ+, co-parenting, and neurodivergent partnerships. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive space for clients to explore, understand, and thrive in their unique relationship dynamics.
Whilst ARC is available to clients in all forms of 'alternative' relationships, we specialise in those exploring or already practicing ethical non-monogamy and polyamory.

Meet your coach
Amy Ardern-Jennings (she/her)
Hi! I'm Amy and I am the driving force behind ARC.
A lot has changed in my life over the past decade, and I've discovered not only a new way of living, but a passion for helping others thrive in alternative relationships. I'm a queer, neurodivergent, polyamorous woman, a mother, a poet and an educator, and I love supporting clients to live the life they want.
As a qualified healthcare professional and coach, I am acutely aware of the importance of communication in all forms of relationships and the power of continuous development. My background in mentoring, training and facilitation means I am skilled at supporting my clients to get the most out of their coaching experience.
Throughout my own journey into the world of ethical non-monogamy, I have encountered challenges where my communication skills and self-awareness were tested. I'm now living a life I never thought possible, and am the happiest and most free I've ever felt.
It is my mission to empower people to improve their communication skills and enhance their unique relationships.

The meaning behind our brand
At ARC, we like to think of relationships as plants, flourishing when nurtured with love and good communication. Whilst the mononormative narrative suggests that two people should be each others' everything, and adding a new partner would take something away from this (see our blog post on why polyamory is a garden, not a pie), we believe that your relationship garden can be filled with all manner of plants, and is all the more beautiful for it!
The base of the logo is shaped like a light bulb, supporting the evolution of new ideas and learning, and celebrating the brightness that positive relationships can bring to your life.
The colours in our logo are also symbolic:
- Green represents growth, harmony, balance and rebirth
- Blue indicates openness, honesty, trust, calm, confidence and strength
- Pink represents love, nurturing, compassion and good health
- Purple suggests creativity, power and wisdom
- Yellow can mean joy, happiness, energy and hope
The polyamory flag contains blue, pink, purple, yellow and white, and the polysexual/polyromantic flags contain pink, green and blue - all colours featured in our logo.

how we got our name
Alternative Relationship Coaching = ARC
In a literary/film context, a character arc refers to the transformation or inner journey a character experiences over the course of a story. It’s how a character grows, learns, or changes, often due to the challenges they face and the choices they make. Typically, this arc follows a structure where the character starts with certain beliefs, behaviours, or flaws, encounters situations that challenge those, and gradually evolves into a more mature or self-aware version of themselves. In both storytelling and personal development, the arc is essential for meaningful transformation, and in coaching, it’s the journey from old patterns to healthier, more effective ways of relating to oneself and others.
